“These Azaleas Are for You”
I didn’t plan it that way: it has just happened.
All of you who now receive, via email, my paintings and their corresponding stories are now like my extended family. There are over four hundred of you located all over the United States and now a few are in Canada and Indonesia. I see your names several times a day and with each time I see your name, my memory flashes back as to how I met you. Some of you email me your thoughts and sometimes your own personal story. Sometimes your stories are about funny events in your life; however all too often they are stories of tragedy.
Each morning I wake up and with great anticipation I check to see who has opened the last email sent out. I look forward to reading the email messages with your comments on the painting, but most often your comments are about how the story affected you.
Some of you are fellow artists, some are authors, some are poets, some are relatives, some are art collectors, some are art gallery owners, some are childhood friends, some are architects, some are engineers, some are in the oil business, some are geologist, some are neighbors, some are college students, some are with museums, some are with the art festivals, some are collectors of my drawings and paintings, some have wildlife refuges, some are ranchers and farmers, some are hunters, some are college professors, some are art teachers, some own restaurants, some are librarians, some of you take care of my body, some are visitors that I met in my booth at the art festivals and there are many that signed up on my website that I don’t have a clue as to who you are.
I am very pleased with this painting of some azaleas and it gives me a good feeling of accomplishment each time I look at it. I want to dedicate this painting to all of you as a special thank you for making my life so much richer by knowing you.
Cheers,
Acree
